Natural calcite and selenite geode. Approx. 8 x 5cm. From Morocco. Contains selenite, which is soft, so once opened keep it dry, as water can mark the crystals. As a natural specimen, the crystal centre varies between geodes.

How to Open It

Wrap the geode in a cloth or old sock and tap firmly around the middle with a hammer, turning as you go, until it splits. Work on a hard surface and wear eye protection. Take care, as this is a hands on activity for adults or supervised children.
