Product Overview

The tall version of our yellow chakra jar stands on a slightly higher base, lifting the hot charcoal further from the surface below. It is handmade brass from India, finished in yellow with gold-coloured patterns. It stands 5cm high on a footed base, 7.5cm wide, and weighs 120g. A removable grate holds the charcoal tablet; resin goes on top and the ash falls into the jar.

The Story Behind the Design

Manipura, the Solar Plexus chakra, is the third of the seven main chakras described in yogic tradition, placed around the navel. Its Sanskrit name is commonly rendered as "city of jewels", and the yellow of this jar follows the colour most often given to it today.

Why You'll Love It

  • Raised base gives the jar more presence on a shelf or altar
  • 120g of brass feels steady in the hand
  • Bright yellow with gold-coloured detail, easy to spot in a set
  • Removable grate for charcoal tablets and loose resin
  • Sits well beside the tall Root and Sacral jars

FAQ

What is the difference between this and the standard jar?
The tall jar has a slightly higher base and is heavier, at 120g against 95g. It stands 5cm high and 7.5cm wide on a footed base, compared with 3cm high and 7.7cm wide for the standard jar.

Can I use self-lighting charcoal tablets?
Yes, standard self-lighting incense charcoal tablets sit on the grate. Wait until the tablet has stopped sparking before adding resin.

How do I use it safely?
Stand the jar on a heat-resistant surface away from curtains, paper and anything flammable, and never leave lit charcoal unattended. The brass gets very hot, so do not touch it while in use, and let the charcoal burn out and cool completely before emptying the ash.
