Product Overview

A 78-card tarot deck in deep forest green with heavy foil detailing, built around creatures of legend and symbols from older traditions. It is the darkest deck in the range and makes no attempt to soften itself. An illustrated guidebook and a textured foil gift box come with it.

The Story Behind the Design

The name is the clue. Kesulu is how Cthulhu is rendered in Chinese, and the deck draws on the mythos H. P. Lovecraft built across his stories from the 1920s onwards: a set of vast, indifferent entities and the forbidden knowledge that reaches them. It explains the palette. Lovecraft's colour for the uncanny was almost always a wrong shade of green, and the deck follows him there rather than to the black and purple most occult decks default to.

Why You'll Love It

• Deep forest green throughout, a colour tarot rarely goes near
• Foil detailing that shifts as the light moves, so the cards reward close looking
• Mythological creatures and older symbolism rather than standard occult shorthand
• An illustrated guidebook with interpretations for any level of reader
• A textured foil box, so it displays as well as it stores

Perfect For

Readers who want a deck with genuine atmosphere · anyone who reads weird fiction · collectors of unusual palettes · a gift for someone hard to buy for · those who find most occult decks too tame

Auro & Co Moment

Read with this one after dark and with a single light source rather than an overhead. The foil needs a low, angled light to do anything, and the green goes flat under a ceiling bulb. A candle or a lamp at the edge of the table is enough.

Complete the Experience

Pairs with tarot storage boxes, reading cloths, candles and the wider ritual range.
