A soy wax candle from the Hop Hare Crystal Magic Flower range, set with black obsidian and decorated with dry botanical flowers, with a Cedar Castle fragrance. Burns for approximately 22 hours in a glass jar. Each candle includes a tarot card with its own illustrated story.

Why This Was Inspired

In tarot, the Knight of Swords is traditionally associated with action, directness and the forward rush of energy that cuts through hesitation. Black obsidian is separately associated with protection and grounding in crystal tradition - a steadying counterpart to the card’s more impulsive, moving energy. The Cedar Castle fragrance was chosen for its bold, dark character: orange and black pepper at the top, whiskey accord and leather in the heart, cedarwood and patchouli beneath.

Fragrance Notes - Cedar Castle

  • Top: Orange, black pepper
  • Heart: Whiskey accord, leather
  • Base: Cedarwood, patchouli, vanilla

A dark, bold fragrance - black pepper and orange opening into whiskey and leather, with cedarwood and patchouli providing depth in the base.

Stone Guide

  • Black Obsidian: traditionally associated with protection and grounding in crystal tradition

The black obsidian is embedded in the wax itself - it can be kept once the candle has burned down.

Perfect For

  • Someone who enjoys dark, bold fragrance profiles - leather and cedarwood rather than floral or sweet
  • A birthday or Mother’s Day gift for someone interested in tarot or crystal practice
  • Completing a set alongside the other cards in the Hop Hare Crystal Magic Flower range

In Crystal Traditions

Cedarwood has been used in prayer malas and ritual objects across South Asian and indigenous traditions for centuries, valued for its warm, naturally aromatic character.
