Product Overview

A molten glass on wood vessel from Bali, where recycled glass is hand blown and, while still hot, settled over a piece of Gamal wood root so it hardens to the exact shape of the wood. Each piece is unique, the smooth glass and the natural grain of the root growing together into a large bowl. A natural setting to hold stones, air plants or cut flowers.

Why You'll Love It

• A molten glass on wood large bowl from Bali
• Recycled glass hand blown over a Gamal wood root
• Each piece unique, shaped by its own piece of wood
• A natural pairing of smooth glass and raw grain
• Made by hand in the traditional Balinese way

How It Is Made

The glass is hand blown and, while still hot, relaxed over a piece of Gamal root. As it cools it hardens to the shape of the wood, so the glass and root fit together perfectly. Because each root is different, no two pieces are the same.

Materials & Specifications

Recycled glass on Gamal wood (Gliricidia sepium). A bowl, approx. 17cm high, 10cm across, on a wood stand around 23cm tall. Made in Indonesia. As a handmade, natural product, exact size, shape and grain vary between pieces.

Perfect For

• A shelf, table or windowsill
• Holding air plants, stones or cut stems
• A natural, handmade decorative piece
• A gift for a plant or design lover
• A one of a kind statement object

Care

Wipe the glass clean with a soft, damp cloth. Keep the wood out of prolonged damp and avoid soaking. Handle with care, as the glass is delicate.

Auro & Co Moment

The appeal of these pieces is the meeting of two very different materials, the glass pooling and curving around the raw wood as if it had grown there. No two roots, and so no two pieces, are alike.

Complete the Experience

Pairs well with air plants, tumble stones and other natural decor.
