Product Overview
This small Libra bowl in mango wood balances its two uses well: incense stick holder or trinket dish. The stick stands upright in a centre hole and the 10cm dish catches the ash. It is made in India, weighs 100g and measures 10 x 10 x 2.5cm, small enough to tuck into a gift hamper.
The round dish is dark-grained mango wood. The centre shows the scales in gold line on an ivory enamel disc, ringed by constellation drawings inside a navy band flecked with gold. It is the same artwork as our Libra keepsake box, so the two make a matching pair.
The Story Behind the Design
Libra is the only sign drawn as an object rather than a living figure. Its stars were once counted as the claws of the neighbouring Scorpion before the Romans gave them a constellation of their own. Libra runs from roughly 23 September to 22 October, an air sign traditionally ruled by Venus.
