Product Overview
A 12 x 12cm polished aluminium holder decorated with the seven chakra symbols, made for standard incense sticks. The bright, silvery finish keeps the chakra artwork in focus. At 50g it is light and flat enough to tuck beside a yoga mat or onto a narrow shelf. Slot in a stick and the symbols stay in view while it burns.
The Story Behind the Design
The chakras come from Indian tantric and yogic texts, which describe energy centres along the spine from its base to the crown of the head. Each has a Sanskrit name, such as Muladhara at the root and Sahasrara at the crown. The rainbow colour sequence now widely used for the seven chakras is a twentieth century Western addition to the older tradition.
